About Us.

Lions logoLions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto.

The Lions Club of Boonah has been proudly providing community services in Boonah and the surrounding district known as the Scenic Rim since Chartering in 1965. Some of our notable achievements include the Lions Park and playground, with the popular picnic tables built and installed by club members. We also maintain and do all the mowing of the park.

The Club has supported many projects since chartering in 1965 including funding for the Blue Care cars, Queensland Ambulance car, catering for many organisations, as well as our major fundraiser every year. That is the Boonah Show where we provide hamburgers and hot chips. This is a big weekend for all members and our many helpers. During the Christmas New Year period we are kept busy with a street raffle. Visits to our three local aged care centres along with a visit to the local hospital delivering gifts Christmas Day.

Projects that we are also involved in on a regular basis are:- Lions Youth of The Year, Personality Quest, (raising funds for Medical Research) Golf Day that raise funds for Care Flight, the Recycled Glasses Project. Two years ago four of our Lions Club Members put together a book to raise funds for the then under costruction Hydrotherapy Pool a One Million Dollar project, that is now in full operation. This book caled Ballads, Tucker & Chuckles containg Bush Poetry, Recipes, Jokes and Aussie Sayings has raised almost $30,000 with only a few left in stock.
